Does Your Commercial Wiring Need Service?

A solid troubleshooting process is essential for keeping electrical systems up and running as they should. Troubleshooting is a systematic way to search for the source of a problem so we can solve it. Our trained technicians can troubleshoot your electrical system to fix current issues and help to prevent future ones. We’re sharing our troubleshooting steps, a few signs that your business’s wiring may need repairing, and when electrical problems warrant emergency service.

Troubleshooting Process

  1. Observation: We note how the system operates vs. how it’s supposed to work. Observing allows us to identify a specific malfunction and move on to finding potential causes.
  2. Identify the source of the problem
  3. Make the repair
  4. Verify the repair: After we finish repairing the problem, we will test your system to ensure it’s working correctly and there are no remaining issues.
  5. 5.Determine the root cause: By figuring out what caused the malfunction in the first place, we can help prevent future occurrences.

Signs Your Wiring Needs Work

Not every electrical problem is an emergency, but your system will give you signs that it needs repair.

  • Blown circuit breakers will generally cause a temporary stoppage in your business activity, which affects overall productivity and profits. When a circuit breaker blows, it’s a safety measure to prevent overheating that can cause a fire. If your breaker has repeated issues, your electrical panel and wiring may be outdated or overworked and need professional attention.
  • If you notice the lights in your office building are flickering or dimming, it’s a sign the wiring in the property is loose or damaged. Either way, you’ll want an experienced electrician to take a look.
  • Outlets that spark when you plug or unplug an item indicate that too much heat is building up within the outlet. This heat can melt the insulation and cause a fire. If you notice sparks flying, stop using the outlet and give us a call to have the outlet replaced.

Please remember that only trained electricians should perform any outlet repair.

Do You Need Emergency Service?

Many electrical problems are inconvenient but not dangerous. However, there are some instances in which you should contact our technicians for emergency service:

  • If you smell something burning, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Most electrical fires ignite behind walls, so you will smell them before you see them. Getting help quickly will protect your business.
  • Loud buzzing or humming sounds from your breaker box can indicate defective or damaged wiring. It’s easier to address the cause of this problem early on than to repair damage from a fire.
  • If your business experiences a complete loss of power but neighboring properties have not, you should call for emergency service.
